The SQOE Standard
SQOE traces its name back to a Spanish guitar-making lineage - the Esquivel family, who by SQOE's own account have handcrafted guitars since 1883 - and builds its identity today around the backronym "Sound Quality Over Experience." Guitars sold under the SQOE name are manufactured in China, with a catalog spanning classical, folk, dreadnought, and electric models. The SEST1000 sits at the top of SQOE's Stratocaster line-up as part of its premium "Caston" (Custom Shop) series, and is offered in two fretboard versions: rosewood, and the gloss Canadian maple version shown here in Peach Pink.
Engineered With Purpose
Gloss Canadian Maple Neck And Fretboard
A Canadian maple C-profile neck carries a gloss Canadian maple fretboard with a 305mm (12") radius and 22 jumbo frets (2.9mm wide). Maple gives a bright, tight, articulate attack and a smooth gloss feel, and a 42mm bone nut and double-action truss rod complete the neck.
Locking Tuners And A Gold-Plated 2-Point Tremolo
SQOE chrome-plated, fully sealed locking tuners clamp the string at the post, and the SQOE 2-point tremolo in brass and zinc alloy has gold-plated hardware. Together they give smooth vibrato and a reliable return to pitch for players who use the bar every night.
Alnico HSS Pickups With A Mini Coil-Split
Two Alnico single-coils and an Alnico bridge humbucker sit on a white pearl pickguard, wired to one volume, two tone controls, a 5-way selector and a mini switch that splits the humbucker. The whole control cavity is coated in graphite conductive shielding paint to keep hum down.
American Alder Body In Gloss Peach Pink
The Stratocaster-style body is American alder, a classic Strat tonewood with a balanced, resonant voice, finished in a gloss Peach Pink with a matching gloss maple neck. It arrives in a tweed hardshell case with a full accessory kit and Certificate of Authenticity.
