The SQOE Standard
SQOE traces its name back to a Spanish guitar-making lineage - the Esquivel family, who by SQOE's own account have handcrafted guitars since 1883 - and builds its identity today around the backronym "Sound Quality Over Experience." Engineered With Purpose
Two Alnico 5 Humbuckers With A Coil-Split
An SQOE Alnico 5 humbucker sits in both the neck and bridge positions. SQOE voiced the pair with reference to the response curves of two classic aftermarket humbuckers, the Seymour Duncan SH-2 and SH-4, for a warm, vocal neck and a punchy, mid-forward bridge. A mini switch splits the humbuckers into single-coils, so one guitar covers thick rock and metal rhythm, singing leads and brighter, glassier cleans.
Canadian Roasted Maple Neck And Fretboard
The neck and fretboard are Canadian roasted maple: heat-treated maple with a caramel colour and a smooth, dry feel. A Modern C profile, 305mm (12") radius and 24 medium jumbo frets in high anti-oxidation nickel silver keep chords comfortable and make bends and fast runs easy, all the way up to the 24th fret. A 42mm bone nut and a double-action truss rod round out the neck.
SQOE 2-Point Tremolo On A Poplar Body
An SQOE 2-point tremolo with a full-size block pivots on two studs for smooth vibrato and a reliable return to pitch, backed by SQOE die-cast sealed tuners at the headstock. The Super Strat body is poplar in a soft pastel pink in a glossy finish, paired with the caramel-brown roasted maple neck, black humbuckers and chrome hardware, with one volume, one tone, a 3-way pickup selector and the coil-split mini switch within easy reach.
