Description
JOYO UZI
High-gain distortion, built for heavy music. One BIAS knob swings your tone between American and British voicing.
Specially designed for heavy metal, the UZI is characterized by high gain. With a BIAS knob, you can switch easily between American Distortion and British Distortion. Its GAIN and VOLUME knobs work in dynamic balance — push the GAIN knob and the circuit compensates automatically, so your output level stays exactly where you set it.
Why You'll Love It
One Knob, Two Amp Worlds
The BIAS knob is the heart of the UZI. Sweep it one way for the compact, tight punch of American-voiced distortion; sweep it the other for the looser, more compressed feel of British-voiced distortion. It's a genuine tonal axis, not just a gain trim.
Gain and Volume, Balanced
Vol and Gain are designed as dynamically balanced controls. Dial in more Gain for a thicker, more saturated distortion, and the circuit automatically adjusts so your output volume doesn't jump — the tone changes, the level doesn't.
A Real 3-Band EQ Onboard
Low, Mid, and High controls let you carve the distortion to fit your rig — scoop the mids for a modern, aggressive edge, or push them forward for a vocal, cutting lead tone. No need to fight your amp's EQ to get there.
Think of BIAS as choosing your amp head, and LOW/MID/HIGH as your cab and mic placement. Set BIAS first, then shape with the EQ — that order gets you to your tone faster.

Engineered With Purpose
Compact, Board-Friendly Build
At 109 × 67 × 48 mm and 248 g, the UZI's die-cast chassis is sized to fit tight pedalboard real estate without crowding neighboring pedals.
True Bypass, No Coloration
When the effect is disengaged, your signal passes through untouched — no tone suck, no added noise floor, no surprises in your chain.
DC 9V, Center-Minus
Runs on a standard DC 9V center-negative supply at a low 20mA draw — an easy addition to any multi-pedal power supply. No battery compartment; designed for dedicated PSU use.
Three LED Modes
Choose Sync, Always, or Off for the status indicator — match it to your stage setup or keep it dark for late-night practice.

TAICHI and ZIP AMP are your classic-rock and blues-rock overdrive picks — lower gain, amp-like breakup. MAXIMUM adds a second footswitch and a boost for solos. If you need genuine high-gain distortion with amp-voicing flexibility built in, UZI is the one built for that job.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the BIAS knob actually do?
It shifts the distortion's underlying voicing between American-style (tighter, more compact) and British-style (looser, more compressed) character, letting you dial in the amp flavor you want without a second pedal.
Does adjusting Gain change my volume?
No. Vol and Gain are dynamically balanced — increasing Gain adjusts the internal signal automatically so your output level stays consistent. You shape the tone without having to re-set your volume.
Can I run this on a battery?
No — the UZI has no battery compartment and is designed to run from a standard DC 9V center-negative power supply at 20mA.
What power supply do I need?
A standard DC 9V center-minus adapter or a multi-output isolated power supply with at least 20mA of headroom per output.
Is this pedal true bypass?
Yes. When switched off, your guitar signal passes straight through the pedal with no buffering or tonal coloration.
