Why You'll Love It
A 36-inch travel acoustic from SQOE's Simple Journey Series, with a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a purpleheart fingerboard with the series artwork inlay and stainless steel frets, in matte charcoal black. A padded gig bag and accessory kit come in the box.
A Solid Spruce Top In A Small Body
A solid spruce top over mahogany back and sides gives clearer projection and a more open voice than a fully laminated travel guitar, so the small body still sounds like a real acoustic.
A 36-Inch Body You Can Take Anywhere
SQOE builds the PFZL-38BS on a compact 36-inch GS Mini-style body. It is easy to carry, comfortable on the couch and well suited to smaller players.
The Simple Journey Artwork Inlay
The purpleheart fingerboard carries the Simple Journey Series artwork inlay, which runs up from the soundhole, framed by maple binding and five-ply purfling around the body.
The SQOE Standard
SQOE traces its name back to a Spanish guitar-making lineage - the Esquivel family, who by SQOE's own account have handcrafted guitars since 1883 - and builds its identity today around the backronym "Sound Quality Over Experience." Guitars sold under the SQOE name are manufactured in China, with a catalog spanning classical, folk, travel and electric models built for players who want real tone without a premium price tag. The PFZL-38BS belongs to SQOE's Simple Journey Series (PFZL), alongside the 40-inch PFZL-40BS and 41-inch PFZL-41BS, which share its solid spruce top, mahogany body and artwork inlay.
Engineered With Purpose
Solid Spruce Top, Mahogany Back And Sides
The PFZL-38BS pairs a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. A solid top vibrates more freely than a laminate, giving clear projection and a voice that opens up as you play it in, while the mahogany adds warmth to the low end.
Purpleheart Fingerboard With The Simple Journey Inlay
A purpleheart fingerboard and bridge carry the series artwork inlay, which extends up from the soundhole, and round-end stainless steel frets that stay smooth and resist wear. SQOE fully enclosed tuners keep the gears protected and the tuning steady.
A Compact 36-Inch GS Mini-Style Body
The 36-inch GS Mini-style body is SQOE's travel size: small enough to carry easily and comfortable to play sitting down, with a full non-cutaway shape. Maple binding with five-ply purfling finishes the edges of the body.
