The Hex Guitars Standard
Hex Guitars is the South Korean team behind HILS Guitars, its international sister brand. Before building instruments under its own name, Hex spent the early 2000s onward manufacturing guitars for other established brands - experience it has since funneled into its own factory in Indonesia. The HN3 BAR belongs to HILS's NEXT series of headless instruments, sold internationally through HILS's own storefronts and distributors rather than Hex's domestic Korean catalog, but built in the same factory to the same standard as the rest of the Hex and HILS lineup.
Engineered With Purpose
Two Humbuckers, No Compromise
Matched custom ceramic humbuckers at neck and bridge, left uncovered for extra bite, are wired to a simple 3-way selector with a push-pull tone control that adds a coil-split option on top of the standard 3-way switching.
Titanium Where It Actually Matters
The headless locking headpiece is titanium rather than the more common steel or aluminum, chosen to resist the extra string tension a baritone build puts through it, while keeping the string-change process at the bridge simple.
A Neck Built For The Extra Tension
A hard maple neck with a double-action, spoke-nut truss rod adjustable at the neck heel is paired with an oiled bone nut and a 12"-16" compound-radius Indian rosewood fretboard, built to hold up under the added tension a baritone scale and heavier strings put on the neck.
